Start-up BW Summit 2019

The Start-up BW Summit 2019 was a little like a MedTech Startup School class reunion. Thanks to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Baden-Württemberg we had the opportunity to present ourselves and some of our alumni startups.

We had the opportunity to take part in the Start-up BW Summit 2019 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart. The project “MedTech Startup School“ was presented by its two project partners Stiftung für Medizininnovationen and Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. They belonged to the 200 network partners from consulting, promotion and technology transfer that attended the event. They could be found in the Neckar-Alb area that Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann and minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut payed a short visit as well.

Presenting a nationwide project

Our partners from the city of Mannheim and Technologiepark Heidelberg were located across the exhibition hall. Together we could prove that great teamwork can work out despite long distances. Our joint project Life Science Accelerator BW is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Baden-Württemberg. Through our cooperation the founding scene in Baden-Württemberg is supposed to be strengthened. In addition, the attractiveness of the partner cities as startup locations will be increased. In addition to the “MedTech Startup School“ the accelerator consists of two further modules: “Medical Innovations Explorer” and “Startup Booster”.

Meeting alumni startups

All in all, more than 380 startups from the German Southwest and international ecosystems presented themselves to 4,000 visitors. We were especially proud to see some of our alumni startup teams like Rehago and imdroi exhibiting their products. Even more, our alumni teams Back in the Game and EQUIL pitched their projects on stage.
