In our workshop on Design Thinking & Business Model Generation we will take a close look at the innovation aspects of Apple, Google & Co. Which business model innovations are responsible for the great success of companies like Netflix, Tesla, IKEA or Nespresso? How can you develop a creative idea and transfer it in a viable business model?

Learn how to develop an innovative idea following the Design Thinking process and how to transfer it into a business model!

What makes Apple, Google & Co innovative? Which business model innovations are responsible for the great success of companies like Netflix, Tesla, IKEA or Nespresso? How can you develop a creative idea and transfer it in a viable business model? User-centered Problem Solving, Creative Ideation and Innovative Business Modelling do not just happen by chance – by applying the right methods and tools (like Business Model Canvas etc.) and following the principles of the Design Thinking process, we will develop them systematically. Let´s go!

P.S. If you like, you could bring your own business idea and work on it – but you don´t have to.

  • Innovation Tools and Techniques: Persona, User Journey, Prototyping, Storyboard, Ideation, Value Proposition etc.
  • Insights in User-Centered Design and innovative Business Models
  • Process: From Idea to Business Model
  • Visualisation of business models – Business Model Canvas

Who can take part in the workshop?

No prior knowledge needed – just bring some motivation to interactively work within team work. The workshop is suitable for Bachelor- and Master studies as well as for PHD students of all areas. You can receive 2 credit points (at the University of Tübingen). The workshop is in English. The two days could give first interesting insights for those interested in participating at the MedTech Startup School 2019.

When and where does the workshop take place?

The workshop takes place on Friday, May 24th (9 AM – 6PM), and Saturday, May 25th (9:30 AM – 5 PM), at Ob dem Himmelreich 7, 72074 Tübingen.
