Project Description

Depression is a very serious illness. In Germany every sixth person will have it once in their life. The worst thing that can happen, is that people commit suicide. This is especially likely when they are left alone after a treatment. At the moment it takes about 6 months to get a place in residential treatment after the hospital. That means: being alone for a very long time.
We want to bridge this gap with our smart-phone app. Compared to existing paper-based solutions this technology has the big advantage that it is always with you, faster to use and offers professional visualization of the results. Additionally to mood-tracking, which other apps can also provide, our app will support a depressive person through personalized and intelligent advice. We believe that with a pro-active and self-responsible attitude it is easier to deal with the obstacles of this disease.
Our aim is to prove the efficacy of our app in a clinical trial and, finally, to ensure that the app is covered by health insurance providers. We are developing the app with constant feedback from patients and therapists and we will start a clinical trial at the end of 2015.
