Project Description

In Germany alone, 270.000 people per year suffer a stroke. The stroke unit admission doctor works under tremendous pressure and cannot keep in mind the complex inclusion criteria of the many available clinical trials. Thus, inclusion windows are often missed and patients forego new treatment options. A smartphone-powered device automatically matches patients with available trials according to the data entered, the information is shared between the physician responsible for the admission and the senior physician to facilitate decision-making. With the Acute Stroke App we can support medical doctors managing the admission process and hospitals to make clinical research faster and easier, so that new therapies will be faster available for all patients.

The Stroke App is developed by Daniel Heblik, Ferdinand Hofer, Dr. Sven Poli and Dr. Christoph Zrenner.
