Our Challenge
In 2014 there have been 700.000 deaths worldwide linked to drug resistance bacteria, a number that will likely raise to ten million deaths by 2050 unless we take immediate action. One reason for this rise in resistance is the overuse of antibiotics because of inadequate therapy. Adequate therapy requires the rapid identification of both the pathogen and its resistance/virulence factors. Despite this need, current standard of care takes three to five days.
Our Solution
To solve this problem Clémedi develops a laboratory workflow enabling identification of pathogens and their virulence/resistance factors within 24 hours. This product consists of reagent kits and software to allow diagnostic labs to run all their samples on a single, certified, DNA-based platform. We design this platform for full automation and high throughput (>1000 samples per day). This covers the need of most diagnostic laboratories and helps them streamline their operations while improving service to their customers.
