The University of Tübingen is one of the most renowned universities in Germany. Innovation is one of the pillars of the university’s success story since 1477. One component of the university’s innovation management is G*UT.
G*UT is a one-stop shop for all students, scientists and alumni of the university and other research institutes in Tübingen that are interested in entre- and intrapreneurship. It is part of the university’s technology transfer strategy. Its goal is to offer to as many people as possible the opportunity to think and behave entrepreneurially. What does this mean, though?
Thinking and behaving entrepreneurially is a synonym for recognizing and using chances – whether someone is self-employed or an employee. In order to train and live out this entrepreneurial spirit the university offers a number of opportunities. They include multiple cooperations with supporting firms and successful spin-offs. Furthermore the university offers coworking spaces and helps to obtain public and private funding. It also offers consulting and coaching for founders in collaboration with external partners from the industry.
Most importantly G*UT organizes a curriculum for education in entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship Summer School is an absolute highlight within that curriculum. It’s the region’s most international and most intense platform that can turn scientists and students into founders.
