Our teams are divided into three different types: needs-driven, team-driven and interest-driven. This way every project gets specific support. Benefits differ depending on the purposes of the applicants. Team constellations may change within the first weeks of the MedTech Startup School. Participants may switch to another team and type.
Type I: Needs-Driven
Candidates apply individually. They work on a business idea which was pre-selected by the Medical Innovations Foundation (www.mi-foundation.org). They have the entire range of project benefits at their disposal, including all workshops and lectures. They receive funding and get support by medical doctors and mentors. Furthermore you can use our coworking spaces and shared resources. In return, participation in this team type requires a very strong commitment.
Type II: Team-Driven
Candidates apply as a team and work on their own business idea. They get support by medical doctors and mentors. Furthermore they can use our coworking spaces. If they need new members, they may find participants of type I or III to join their team.
Type III: Interest-Driven
Candidates apply individually or as a team. They join the curricular part of the summer school, especially the Lean Mondays lectures, out of general interest, to get a feel for the entrepreneurial spirit and opportunities in this field. Since they do not work on a business idea within the startup school they do not receive any coworking space or further support by medical doctors or mentors. Depending on how their interest develops, however, type III- participants may join another team, maybe even type I by the end of the MedTech Startup School.
